Security Camera Monitoring Procedure (SOP)

Purpose

The purpose of this SOP is to establish guidelines for monitoring security cameras and reviewing footage as needed to ensure the safety and security of the pharmaceutical warehouse.

Scope

This SOP applies to all personnel involved in security monitoring activities within the warehouse.

Responsibilities

  • Security Supervisor: Overall responsibility for implementing security camera monitoring procedures and ensuring compliance.
  • Security Guards: Responsible for actively monitoring security cameras and responding to security incidents.
  • IT Department: Responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting security camera systems.
  • Management: Responsible for reviewing security footage and initiating appropriate actions in response to incidents.

Procedure

  1. Camera Monitoring:
    • Monitor security cameras in real-time to detect any suspicious activities or security breaches.
    • Regularly scan different camera views to ensure comprehensive coverage of the warehouse area.
    • Report any unusual or unauthorized activities observed on camera to the security supervisor.
  2. Footage Review:
    • Review recorded footage from security cameras as needed to investigate specific incidents or suspicious activities.
    • Use video playback controls to navigate through footage and focus on relevant time frames.
    • Document observations and findings from video footage reviews for further action or follow-up.
  3. Incident Response:
    • Take immediate action to address any security incidents or breaches detected through camera monitoring.
    • Coordinate with security personnel and management to respond appropriately to security threats or emergencies.
    • Document incident details, including actions taken
and outcomes, for future reference and analysis.
  • System Maintenance:
    • Regularly inspect security cameras and associated equipment to ensure proper functioning.
    • Report any technical issues or malfunctions with security camera systems to the IT department for prompt resolution.
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning camera lenses and adjusting camera angles, to optimize performance.
