Operation and Maintenance of Ring Drying Oven

1) Purpose

The purpose of this SOP is to outline the procedures for operating and maintaining the ring drying oven to ensure thorough drying of rings during manufacturing.

2) Scope

This SOP applies to all personnel involved in the operation, cleaning, and maintenance of the ring drying oven in the manufacturing facility.

3) Responsibilities

It is the responsibility of production operators, maintenance staff, and quality control personnel to follow this SOP to ensure proper operation and maintenance of the ring drying oven.

4) Procedure

4.1 Preparation

  1. Ensure the work area and equipment are clean and sanitized before starting the drying process.
  2. Verify the availability and integrity of rings ready for drying.
  3. Inspect the ring drying oven, including heating elements and airflow systems, to ensure they are clean and operational.

4.2 Drying Process

  1. Set up the drying parameters such as temperature, humidity, and drying time according to product specifications.
  2. Load the rings onto the drying racks or trays inside the oven and start the drying process.
  3. Monitor the drying process to ensure rings reach the desired moisture content.

4.3 Cooling and Packaging

  1. Stop the ring drying oven after completing the drying cycle.
  2. Allow the dried rings to cool down to room temperature inside the oven.
  3. Transfer the cooled rings
to packaging materials and proceed with packaging according to specifications.
