1) Purpose

The purpose of this SOP is to establish a clear procedure for the safe evacuation of workers during chemical incidents to minimize exposure risks, ensure orderly evacuation, and maintain personnel safety.

2) Scope

This SOP applies to all employees, contractors, and visitors in the facility. It covers evacuation protocols in the event of chemical spills, leaks, or other hazardous chemical emergencies.

3) Responsibilities

  • Emergency Response Team (ERT): Lead evacuation efforts, manage the incident site, and provide assistance to personnel during the evacuation.
  • Supervisors: Ensure employees are familiar with evacuation procedures and assist in evacuating workers from affected areas.
  • Safety Officers: Monitor the evacuation process and confirm that all workers have reached safe zones.
  • Employees: Follow evacuation instructions promptly and proceed to designated assembly points.
