Assessment of Technology Platforms in Formulation Development

1) Purpose

The purpose of this SOP is to establish a procedure for the assessment and evaluation of technology platforms in formulation development, ensuring the selection of suitable platforms that align with project requirements, enhance efficiency, and support innovation.

2) Scope

This SOP applies to the evaluation and assessment of technology platforms used in formulation development activities within the organization, covering the selection, validation, and implementation phases.

3) Responsibilities

The responsibilities for this SOP include:
Formulation Development Team: Identifying technology platform requirements, conducting assessments, and recommending platform selections.
Technical Specialists: Providing expertise in technology platform assessment and validation.
Quality Assurance: Reviewing platform assessment documentation and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Management: Approving platform selection decisions and providing resources for platform implementation.

4) Procedure

4.1 Technology Platform Identification

  1. Identify formulation development projects and activities that require the use of technology platforms to enhance efficiency, quality, or innovation.
  2. Review project requirements, technical specifications, and stakeholder inputs to determine technology platform needs.
  3. Document technology platform requirements, including functionalities, compatibility, and integration capabilities.

4.2 Technology Platform Assessment

  1. Conduct a thorough assessment of available technology platforms based on defined requirements, evaluating features, capabilities, and performance metrics.
  2. Compare and analyze technology platforms to determine their
suitability for specific formulation development projects and activities.
