Standard Operating Procedure for Evaluating Training Effectiveness for Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Programs

1) Purpose

The purpose of this SOP is to provide a systematic approach for evaluating the effectiveness of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) training programs to ensure they meet organizational objectives, improve workplace safety, and enhance compliance.

2) Scope

This SOP applies to all EHS training programs conducted for employees, contractors, and personnel within the organization.

3) Responsibilities

  • EHS Manager: Oversee the evaluation process and ensure the results are used to improve training programs.
  • Training Coordinator: Administer assessments, collect feedback, and analyze training effectiveness data.
  • Supervisors: Observe employee performance post-training and provide feedback on its impact.
  • Employees: Actively participate in training assessments and provide honest feedback.

4.1 Setting Evaluation Criteria

  1. Define Training Objectives:
    • Clearly outline the desired outcomes of the training, such as knowledge improvement, behavior change, or compliance enhancement.
